Date/Time
Sun. 9 Dec 2012
10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Location
University of Zurich, Room KO2-F-147

What is a hadith?
Who or what are Bukhari and Muslim?
What is the difference between sahih and da’eef?
What is an isnad?
Weren’t the hadith written 300 years after the death of the Prophet Muhammad?
How can I trust that these hadith in my books were truly spoken by Rasoolullah?

If you have ever asked yourself one of these questions, then this one day seminar is for you! During this course you will learn about:

  • the historical origins of the science of hadith
  • the lengths to which Islamic scholars went to sift truth from lies
  • the grading system they introduced
  • get a glimpse into the lives of the muhaditheen
  • learn about contemporary views on hadith and hadith criticism

The Muslim Student Association of Zurich and SwissMuslimEvents.com are pleased to invite you, your friends and your family to this free day-long seminar.

About the speaker

Born and brought up in Canton Bern, Ustadh Sanel has been involved in Islamic learning and teaching for nearly 15 years.

He was a co-founder of the Swiss Muslim Scouts before moving to Saudi Arabia to further his studies. His 7 year stay enabled him to graduate from the faculty of Usul ud-Din at the Islamic University of Medina and also to study with Islamic scholars in the Prophet’s Mosque.

Since his graduation, Ustadh Sanel has moved to the United Kingdom where he recently completed a Masters in Education and now works as a teacher and Deputy Head at an Islamic School.
