There are lots of beautiful places to visit in Switzerland so this time lets go to the sunny south of Switzerland for a weekend hike in Canton Tessin.

The plan would be to meet up in the Locarno area on Saturday around lunchtime and then head over to Sonogno where we would hike the Swiss White Water Trail. The hike is easy lasting about 4 hours long taking us through scenic old villages, along rushing rivers and over medieval bridges. Overnight stay

A group of us will be staying overnight in a hostel in Locarno. We have have pre-booked a number of beds already, costing 60 CHF per night, so if you wish to join the party please register as soon as possible.

Weather and time permitting we’ll head over to Lugano the day after for lunch before heading back to Zurich, inshallah.

Same day return to Zurich

For those who can’t stay overnight you’ll be able to head back towards Deutsch-Schweiz with the last trains leaving Locarno at around 9.00pm

16:10 – 18:00 Freshen up at Hostel

Sunday

09:03 – 10:40 Locarno – Monte San Salvatore
10:40 – 14:00 Hike across top of Monte San Salvatore to Morcote (http://www.myswitzerland.com/en/interests/hiking1/seasonal-hiking/hiking-in-spring/san-salvatore-high-altitude-trail-to-morcote.html)
14:00 – lunch in Morcote and then return to Zurich
