This Friday we move on to hadith #38 of Imam an-Nawawi’s famous collection on the topic of becoming the friend of Allah.

Brothers and sisters are both welcome to attend.

Hadith #38

Abu Huraira narrates that the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said:

“Allah the Almighty has said: ‘Whosoever acts with enmity towards a closer servant of Mine (wali), I will indeed declare war against him. Nothing endears My servant to Me than doing of what I have made obligatory upon him to do. And My servant continues to draw nearer to Me with supererogatory (nawafil) prayers so that I shall love him. When I love him, I shall be his hearing with which he shall hear, his sight with which he shall see, his hands with which he shall hold, and his feet with which he shall walk. And if he asks (something) of Me, I shall surely give it to him, and if he takes refuge in Me, I shall certainly grant him it”

The format of our class will be to formally study the hadith for around 30 minutes, basing the study on classical works of Islamic scholarship, and then follow it up by another 20 minutes of open discussion amongst the attendees.

Location details: The class takes place on the second floor of the masjid in the attic room next to the women’s prayer hall.

Enter the main hall and take the stairs on the right of the hall up. Then at the first floor take an immediate left and walk behind the curtain and up the stairs behind the food counter. Our room is through the doorway and then to the left
